As the 11 p.m. end-of-day deadline approached, Andy Murray raced to finish off Marcos Baghdatis. The two men had split the first two sets in the match, and after fading early in the third set Murray had come back to win. He took that momentum into the fourth set and was looking dominant, going up 4-1 as it reached 11 o'clock. Officials decided to let play continue, and it took Murray only two minutes to close things out and take the final set 6-1.
Tenth seeded American Andy Fish was also victorious in Round 3, defeating David Goffin in three straight sets. Andy Roddick was not so lucky, and he saw his 2012 Wimbledon run come to a close on Saturday with a loss to David Ferrer. In the Ladies' draw, Serenea Williams advanced to Round 4 with a victory over Jie Zheng.
