Blake Beavan Tonight. Danny Hultzen vs Jamie Moyer Tomorrow?

I had written a much longer article about the possibility of Jamie Moyer facing off against Danny Hultzen until I realized it's already been covered and may not even be a reality. The Rainiers game against Colorado Springs was postponed yesterday, so the whole rotation could get a bump back and it wouldn't be Hultzen versus Moyer. Or they could do the right thing and start Hultzen tomorrow, which would be entirely reasonable and understandable.

I'm just upset because I did this great comparison on the day that Hultzen was born and what Moyer was doing that day at the age of 27. Oh well!

For now, you'll have to pay attention to Blake Beavan as he makes his third start since being demoted to Tacoma. Beavan is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA and 5 strikeouts, 5 walks in 12 innings with 17 hits allowed. He has given up a home run in each of his starts.

In other news, the Jackson Generals beat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 4-2 last night behind a 4-for-5 effort from Nate Tenbrink who also homered for the first time in Jackson this season. I had forgotten about Tenbrink until just now, but he's making his triumphant return and could be an interesting utility bat to watch in the future. That would probably be his ceiling though.

Tenbrink hit .318/.409/.521 with AA West Tennessee in 2010, but has yet to advance to AAA.

Forrest Snow makes the start for Jackson tonight.
