Olympic Trials 2012, Track And Field Results: Bernard Lagat Advances

There are plenty of Seattle track and field athletes at the 2012 Olympic Trials, but only a few performed well enough to stay alive. Most of the success came in the discus and pole vault.

Bernard Lagat (from Washington State) was second in the men's 5000 m qualfiying.

Jarred Rome had the third best mark in men's discus qualifying throwing. Ian Waltz (a former Washington State Cougar) had the fifth best mark, and former Husky Will Conwell was seventh. All advanced to the discus final.

Collier Lawrence and Lois Keller (women's 3000 m steeplechase), John Ricardi (men's 3000 m steeplechase), Jacob Riley (men's 5000 m), Brie Felnagle (women's 5000 m) didn't qualify.

Brad Walker and Scott Roth had the third best marks in the men's pole vault qualifying, making them both eligible for the next rounds. Levi Keller and Jason Colwick couldn't clear specific heights and were eliminated.

In terms of overall finals, Andrea Geubelle finished third in the women's triple jump, Blessing Ufodiamia tenth. Sean Keller was eighth in the men's javelin. Mark Wieczorke finished seventh in the men's 800 meters. None earned bids to London.
