Sunday was a good day for Greg Biffle. The Washington driver was able to gain ground once again in the standings when the smoke cleared on Sunday's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma. The 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race didn't result in a win for Biffle, but it was about as good a result as he could have hoped for.
Clint Bowyer took the checkered flag in an upset, holding off Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch. Biffle finished in seventh place, which was more than enough to vault him back into second place in the Sprint Cup standings. Previous No. 2 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. finished 23rd and overall points leader Matt Kenseth placed 13th, one spot ahead of the other Washington driver, Kasey Kahne.
Biffle is now just 11 points behind Kenseth as the Chase for the Sprint Cup gets closer.
