206 Clicks: Mariners Take Down Giants, Diamondbacks Next

Mariners 2 Giants 1 [box]: The Mariners took two of three games from the San Francisco Giants this past weekend. Justin Smoak singled in the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to clinch the series victory. Felix Hernandez pitched his first "good" game since the end of May. Hernandez gave up one earned run in seven innings pitched, striking out seven. Lookout Landing has your analysis. Next game: Monday, Seattle (29-39) vs. Arizona (32-34), 6:40 p.m. PT, ROOT Sports, 11.5 games back.

  • Storm 65, Lynx 62 [box]: The Storm handed the Minnesota Lynx their first loss of the season on Sunday night. Sue Bird led all scorers with 21 points while Tanisha Wright also added 12 points, 8 assists and 3 rebounds for the Storm. Hopefully this win builds some confidence for a team that badly needs Lauren Jackson. Next game: Friday, Seattle (3-7) vs. San Antonio (10-1), 7:00 p.m. PT, 6.5 games back.
