Continuing my series on the Huskies' basketball class of 2013 recruiting targets, I will now be profiling players position by position after covering the big three. This week's position is point guard, with the Huskies already having locked up one.
The Huskies' first commitment from the class of 2013, Nigel Williams-Goss, is exciting for several reasons. First, Williams-Goss looks like a four-year player at Washington. He is different from the typical Washington guard because he is not overly quick or athletic. Instead, Williams-Goss stands at 6'4" giving him a size advantage on both ends of the court against opposing teams' point guards — similar to Abdul Gaddy.
He's also smart, both on and off court. A 4.0 GPA student who chose the Huskies over Harvard? I do not want to make assumptions about his maturity level based on his GPA, but 4.0 students usually turn out to have some leadership qualities. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of his commitment is his pledge to do his best in helping Romar and his staff recruit Aaron Gordon, Issac Hamilton and his AAU teammate Marcus Lee.

Rankings:
- No. 10 point guard in the class of 2013, No. 57 player overall, 87/100 (ESPN)
- No. 4 point guard in the class of 2013, No. 39 player overall, 4/5 stars (Rivals)
- No. 19 point guard in the class of 2013, No. 97 player overall, 4/5 stars (Scout)
Scouting Report:
Williams-Goss has great size and skill for the point guard position. He has a high basketball IQ and his decision making is pretty solid. (Via: ESPN)
He's added a nice looking floater to his game, which has helped him when attacking the basket. The more he can improve his three-point shot, the better. (Via: Scout)

Jahmel Taylor
It is unlikely Taylor chooses to come to UW after the commitment of Williams-Goss, but the Huskies might be an attractive choice for Taylor considering their success with scoring point guards in the past. I talked with a high school coach whose team played against Taylor on several occasions and the coach described him as a "raw athlete who plays more like a shooting guard."
Taylor's game sounds similar to the tune of players like Isaiah Thomas and Justin Dentmon — two former Husky point guards who had a scoring bug in their games. Best guess tells me USC is Taylor's favorite based on the proximity of the campus to Taylor's current Southern California high school, Sierra Canyon.
