Mariners 4, Tigers 6 [box]: There was two outs, the bases were loaded and the winning runs were on base. Jesus Montero ends up fouling the ball into the right field stands and into the diving-into-the-stands glove of Tigers right fielder Don Kelly. After Kelly's catch, Twitter blew up with fans lambasting those other fans for not interfering with the ball and making it difficult for Kelly to catch it.
I don't doubt some fans would take the initiative to keep their team in the game, but would I? Of course I'd want the Mariners to win, but I don't think I'd have the guts to interfere. It's easy to say these things on Twitter or on the couch at home, but when you're watching the game in person the environment is wholly different. Call me a wuss. Next game: Mariners (14-18) vs. Tigers (15-14), 7:10 p.m. PT, ROOT Sports, seven games back
