2012 KentuckyDerby Results: I'll Have Another Wins, Bodemeister and Dullahan Show And Place

The 2012 Kentucky Derby concluded in Louisville on Saturday evening, with 14-1 contender I'll Have Another surprising viewers with an inspiring performance. Bodemeister held the lead for much of the race, posting strong splits and outrunning Trinniberg, a horse with much stronger sprinting speed. But it wasn't enough to hold of I'll Have Another, who closed what was at one point a five length lead and overtook Bodemeister in the final yards.

9/2 favorite Union Rags had a disappointing race, struggling with the traffic that resulted from the number four post position. Union Rags was still stuck in traffic coming around the final turn, and was not a threat coming down the stretch. I'll Have Another's draw of post 19 proved to be an advantage, and the horse that took the Santa Anita Derby adds the 2012 Kentucy Derby to its credentials.
