Seattle Mariners Minors: James Paxton Ks 5, Taijuan Walker Shutout Through 4

One of the best double-header back-to-back pitchers you’ll see in the minor leagues this season, the Jackson Generals duo of Taijuan Walker and James Paxton are currently pitching each game of a double-header.

In game one, Paxton went 5.1 innings and had 5 K, 2 BB, 3 H, and an unearned run in the Generals 3-1 win over Pensacola. Stephen Pryor continues to dominate in the bullpen; he went 1.2 innings and was perfect with four strikeouts.

3B Francisco Martinez was 2-for-3 with 2 R and a double.

The Generals are locked in a 0-0 tie in the fifth inning with Walker on the mound. He has gone four innings with three hits allowed, two strikeouts and two walks. His season ERA now sits at 1.38.

Not bad for one of the leagues youngest pitchers.
