Take Charge Indy has flown under the radar compared to other big horses like Bodemeister or Union Rags. Bodemeister currently is the favorite with 4/1 odds, and Union Rags isn't too far behind at 9/2. But Take Charge Indy (with 15/1 odds) might be a horse worth watching in this tournament, simply because the man who's riding him might be the one with the most success at this racetrack.
The big reason Take Charge Indy might be a good pick is jockey Calvin Borel. Borel has enjoyed a lot of recent success at Churchill Downs and loves using that rail to march toward victory. Borel has won the 2007, 2009, and 2010 Derbys. If you're looking for a solid pick that doesn't rely too much on chalk or betting on longshots, here's your man.
