Mariners Prospect Stefen Romero Hits for the Cycle for High Desert

Hitting for the cycle is somewhat overrated and hitting in High Desert is like hitting on the moon, but might as well be happy that a Mariners prospect had himself one hell of a day.

Stefen Romero got the start at DH for just the 5th time this season, but maybe that helped him focus on just hitting. He went 4-for-5 with a single, double, triple, and a home run and yep, that’s what we call “The Cycle.”

Romero is a 23-year-old former 12th round pick of the M’s and is hitting .350/.374/.588 for the Mavericks in 41 games this season. Primarily a second baseman this season, Romero has hit much better at home, but isn’t doing badly on the road:

HOME: .397/.415/.692
ROAD: .313/.343/.505

Like with most hitters, we won’t know as much until we see how they perform at AA and get out of the desert.

The Mavs ended up winning the game by a score of 12-8. SS Brad Miller was 3-for-5 with a HR, LF Jack Marder was 3-for-5 with a HR, and 1B Mickey Wiswall was 2-for-5 with a HR and 5 RBI.
