Taijuan Walker Ks 8, Jackson Wins

Taijuan Walker couldn’t have asked for a better first start for the Jackson Generals. Well, he could have, but he would have been a greedy bastard.

Walker struck out eight batters and walked one over five innings, with 2 runs allowed. Carter Capps came into relief of Walker and allowed the first three hitters to single before managing to get out of the jam and pitch three scoreless innings.

Stephen Pryor pitched a scoreless ninth and picked up his third save of the season to move Jackson to 4-1 on the season. The hitters helped too:

Shortstop Nick Franklin doubled, and Johermyn Chavez, Francisco Martinez both added two-baggers of their own. Rich Poythress had a FOUR-bagger with a man on and four bags is twice as valuable as two. His quad-bagger proved to be the difference in the 3-2 Jackson win.

Generals-ly speaking, this was a good day for all those involved for Jackson.
