Ben Crane couldn't have had a more quiet yet solid round of golf. And thanks to an excellent, bogey-free back nine, he's headed into Friday only two shots off the lead.
Crane had a great time at Amen Corner, birdieing the 11th and 13th holes, then adding another birdie on 17 to finish at three-under par. Crane did bogey the fourth hole, but that was cancelled out by a birdie at the third. Crane finishes right behind Lee Westwood, who also birdied 13 and 17 to stay on top of the leaderboard.
This is Ben Crane, by the way.

Fred Couples had his hiccups, particularly when he bogeyed the formidable 10th and 11th holes, but he rallied with birdies on 13 and 14 to finish at even par on the day with a round of 72. Kyle Stanley finished at +3 and will have to do some rallying to make the cut.
