Masters Leaderboard 2012: Henrik Stenson Leads Early, Tiger Woods Close Behind

Sc0ring conditions Thursday morning at Augusta National have been a bit tougher than some had expected, though Swede Henrik Stenson has seemingly figured it out, jetting out to an early lead during the first round of the 2012 Masters.

Stenson used eagles on the par-5 2nd and 8th holes to vault himself atop the leaderboard, cpuple with a pair of birdies at the 5th and 10th. He remains bogey free on the card for the day, and currently holds a three shot lead over Scotland's Paul Lawrie and England's Ross Fisher.

Tiger Woods had a pretty solid start, going out in 1-under for his first nine of the tournament. An unfortunate bogey on the par-4 7th is his lone blemish on the card, paired with birdes on the 3rd and the 8th. Woods is tied with 2011 champion Charl Schwartzl as well as 14 other competitors currently sitting at at 1-under.

With some possible wet weather coming this afternoon, having a low score turned in this morning will be crucial for the players on the course.
