Mariners left-handed prospect James Paxton is making his second start of the season for Jackson… RIGHT NOW. If you have milb.tv, you can follow along from here. Otherwise, there is Gameday to keep track of all of the strikeouts and complete lack of walks and hits allowed by Paxton.
In his first start of the year, Paxton struck out 10 and walked 0 over 5.2 innings. It’s not without reason to think that Jackson could be in Tacoma or Seattle (Basically, somewhere in Washington! Which is always good unless he gets sent to Everett, which would not be good!) sometime in the near future, ahead of even Danny Hultzen.
Jackson beat the Tennessee Smokies 5-1 last night behind a 3-for-4 effort from Rich Poythress and seven innings of 2-hit, 1-run pitching by Andrew Carraway.
I’ll be back soon to update you on the rest of the M’s minors, but as of right now, it’s PAXTON WATCH!
