Pac-12 Tournament: Washington Clinches No. 1 Seed, Will Face WSU/OSU Winner

With the loss by Cal to Stanford, the Washington Huskies have clinched the Pac-12 title outright. UW earns the number one seed and will play the winner of the No. 8/No. 9 matchup. And they’ll be playing one of two teams they’re plenty familiar with playing.

The Washington St. Cougars and Oregon St. Beavers have a first round matchup as the No. 8 and the No. 9 seed. They will play each other at noon PT on Wednesday at the Staples Center, with the winner going on to face Washington. Both of them were swept by the Huskies in the season series, although Washington State came close to winning both their matchups.

The Oregon Ducks locked up the number three seed earlier this week, and will play the winner of the matchup between the sixth and eleventh seeds, i.e. the Colorado Buffaloes and the Utah Utes. Colorado should be able to win that one easily, setting up a matchup between a team Oregon owned this past Thursday (although the Ducks did lose narrowly in Colorado earlier this year).
