↵Pineda was dealt to the Yankees for catcher/desginated hitter Jesus Montero in the off-season. This might be a blessing in disguise for Pineda, who was struggling to demonstrate in Spring that he deserved a roster spot. The Yankees were contemplating sending him down to AAA, but the DL stint should allow some extra time to get the mechanics working correctly.
