No Brock Motum? No problem for the Washington St. Cougars.
Washington State narrowly held off Pitt in the final seconds to grab the first game in the CBI tournament. The Cougars were led by Abe Lodwick, who nailed six of his first 12 shots and hit four of five threes. Reggie Moore hit eight free throws, providing 14 points in support, and DaVonte Lacy pitched in 10 points. Washington State shot 48.9% from the field and hit nine of their 15 threes while nailing 14 free throws.
Pitt got 16 points from J.J. Moore and Tray Woodall each, and Nasir Robinson added 11 points. The Cougars now move onto the road to face Pitt in Pittsburgh. A loss means a return to Pullman for the third and deciding game; a win means a CBI championshp.
