NCAA Tournament 2012: Gonzaga Bulldogs Eliminated; Season By The Numbers

The Gonzaga Bulldogs saw their season end on Saturday afternoon, losing a heartbreaker to the Ohio St. Buckeyes. While fans will undoubtably be disappointed with the final outcome, Mark Few and his program had a great year in 2011-12, one most figured would be more of a rebuilding season with all the young freshmen in the mix.

Here was a recap of their season by the numbers, as well as a preview for next year.

Final Record: 26-7 overall, 13-3 in conference play.

Tournament Results: (W) vs. West Virginia 77-54, (L) vs. Ohio State 73-66

Leading Scorers: Kevin Pangos (13.8), Elias Harris (13.0), Robert Sacre (11.8), Gary Bell, Jr. (10.1)

Seniors: Robert Sacre, Marquise Carter

2012-13 Outlook: The Bulldogs may struggle early in the season as they learn to play without Sacre in the paint, but this team is very young and projects very well moving forward. Pangos and Bell should headline the backcourt for years to come, while Harris will likely be a favorite for conference POY as a senior. Gonzaga does not have any freshmen committed as of now.
