Washington continues its quest for an NIT championship with a second round game against Northwestern (18-13). The No. 1 seeded Huskies (21-10) advanced to this game after beating UT-Arlington 82-72 on Tuesday.
This is the first meeting between the schools since 1975, with Washington holding an overall 5-2 record against the Wildcats. Northwestern's 76-74 victory over Akron landed them in this game against Washington. The Wildcats received solid play from John Shurna and Drew Crawford with the two players scoring 23 and 27 points respectively.
The winner of this game will move on to play the winner of Sunday's match up between Oregon and Iowa.
