NIT 2012: Washington Huskies Coach Lorenzo Romar Reacts To Tourney Snub

The Washington Huskies are one of a few teams who feel like they were snubbed by the NCAA Tournament selection committee. They were the Pac-12 regular season champion and became the first regular season champion from a major conference by miss out on the tournament.

But head coach Lorenzo Romar was very understanding of why his team ended up in the position that it ended up in and provided his own reaction to the ‘snub' in an interview with ESPN Radio.

"Obviously disappointed but again this is something we had control of that we didn't control. We lost some games that we should have done a better job of getting done. And the conference as a whole didn't have enough quality wins in the non-conference. And that's what the NCAA Selection committee looks at and now, we're not in the field."

The Huskies had been to the tournament each of the past three seasons and will now be a no. 1 seed in the NIT tournament and will face UT-Arlington in the first round.
