Pac-12 Tournament 2012: Colorado Defeats Arizona 53-51 To Claim Conference Championship

The final game of the 2012 Pac-12 Tournament took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon. The No. 4 seed Arizona Wildcats went up against the No. 6 Colorado Buffaloes for the conference title and accompanying berth to the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Buffalo eventually managed the 53-51 upset win.

The Wildcats fell behind early and were trailing for much of the game, but battled back in an exciting second half. It all came down to the final possession. The Wildcats managed to cut the lead to within two with less than 20 seconds remaining. They fouled Colorado and the Buffaloes missed both free throws. Arizona grabbed the rebound and had plenty of time to tie the game and force an overtime, but were unable to get a shot off and the Buffaloes won the game and the 2012 Pac-12 Championship.

Colorado's Spencer Dinwiddie and Arizona's Kyle Fogg led all scorers with 14 points. Buffaloes forward Andre Roberson had a solid game and a double-double, putting up 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Colorado will now be heading to the 2012 NCAA Tournament and a chance at a national title. Not bad for a No. 6 seed.
