The Seahawks can officially start looking at prospective free agents and one name that's not Peyton Manning or Mario Williams is Redskins tight end Fred Davis. He was recruited by Pete Carroll at USC and is coming off of a career year with Washington after catching 59 passes for 796 yards and three touchdowns.
Davis would team up with Zach Miller, something that he should be accustomed to after spending most of his career playing alongside Pro Bowl tight end Chris Cooley for the Redskins. Seattle was firm in stating that they wanted to use Miller alongside John Carlson last year, but we never got to see that plan come to fruition after Carlson was lost to injury before the year.
Miller was mostly a disappointment in 2011 after catching only 25 passes and having some notable drops, so Davis would provide some much-needed insurance if the rumors of Seattle being interested are true.
