NFL Draft Order: Seahawks Lose Coin Toss, Will Pick 12th

Of course. The Seahawks lost the coin toss that the NFL administered this morning to break the record and strength of schedule ties between the Dolphins and Panthers at Pick #8 and the Seahawks and Chiefs at Pick #11. The Dolphins won their coin toss and will pick eighth and the Chiefs won and will pick eleventh. The Seahawks now officially have the 12th pick in the Draft.

This toss was pretty significant, considering the likelihood the Hawks would try to trade down. The difference between the 11th and 12th pick is roughly a late fourth round pick's worth if you're going by the Jimmy Johnson Trade Value Chart. That said, not all teams use that chart and if there's a player at 12 that some team wants, all 'trade value' becomes an afterthought. It's about supply and demand, really.

Seahawks GM John Schneider remained calm after learning the news, saying "We'll survive with 12. We would have liked to have picked 11, but 12 is right there."

Some recent 11th picks include Anthony Davis, Aaron Maybin, Leodis McKelvin, Patrick Willis, Jay Cutler, Demarcus Ware, Ben Roethlisberger, Marcus Trufant, and Dwight Freeney. Some recent 12th picks include Ryan Mathews, Knowshon Moreno, Ryan Clady, Marshawn Lynch, Haloti Ngata, Shawne Merriman, Jonathan Vilma, Jimmy Kennedy, and Wendell Bryant.
