  • The undefeated No. 5 Washington Huskies (11-0) softball team beat the No. 1 Florida Gators on Thursday, handing them their first loss of the season. UW continues its tournament in Florida with games against Texas A&M and Georgia.

I agree with Kelley's points, but he doesn't offer a solution — and until someone does, the tournament format will keep on being tweaked. Head over to his High School Sports blog for regional round game previews. Regional round games are this Friday and Saturday.
  • Isaiah Thomas is having a cinderella season down in Sacramento for the Kings according to Griffin Bennett from Montlake Madness. Mr. Irrelevant is turning into one of the most relevant rookies in the NBA. Could he be more successful than Nate Robinson or is this spurt just a fluke? We shall see.
  • Gonzaga took care of BYU at home 74-63 on Thursday night. The Zags are now one game behind Saint Mary's. Elias Harris might've had his best game of the season, totaling 19 points, 16 rebounds and an absolutely sick alley-oop (see below). To keep its 11 conference regular-season title streak alive, Gonzaga needs the Gaels to lose on Saturday in a road game against San Francisco — which isn't out of the realm of possibility — and the Zags will need to beat San Diego.
