The Seattle Seahawks offense under rookie quarterback Russell Wilson wasn't the strength of the team early in the season. While the defense has continued its impressive play, the offense is now coming together over the last two weeks.
After dismantling the Arizona Cardinals in a 58-0 win last week, Seattle followed up the performance with a 50-17 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon. The victory has made Seahawks fans giddy and for good reason, as expressed by Field Gulls:
Let me just say... wow. This team is going to be called the best team in football by a highly-respected football website. How did this happen? Did I mention that Brandon Browner is still suspended and that several key players were dinged up and that Marshawn Lynch hardly had to do any work for the last two weeks and that Russell Wilson's QBR was almost exactly 100?
Wilson was especially effective against the Bills, rushing for three touchdowns in only the first half. For the game, he finished with 92 rushing yards on nine runs, flashing the dynamic that made him so appealing for Seattle in the NFL draft.
Lynch found little resistance in running the ball himself, amassing 113 yards and a touchdown on just 10 carries. After scoring 31 points in the first half, Seattle clamped down on defense, surrendering no points to the Bills after the intermission.
The Seahawks now get a test against their NFC West foe, the San Francisco 49ers, next week.
