Fantasy Football 2012: Marshawn Lynch a solid play if healthy

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch missed practice on Wednesday due to back and wrist injuries, putting his status for Sunday's game against the Jets in question.

Lynch is coming off three straight games with at least 100 rushing yards and has a favorable matchup against the New York Jets on Sunday. The Jets have allowed the 10th most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season. New York has also allowed eight rushing touchdowns, tied for the fifth most in the NFL.

After a two-game lull in Week 5 and 6, Lynch has posted double digit fantasy points each of the last three weeks. He ran for 124 yards and a touchdown against Minnesota, good for 20 points in standard leagues. Lynch has scored at least nine fantasy points in seven of the nine weeks this season.

The back injury is nothing new for Lynch, he's played through back pain for the better part of two seasons. The wrist injury, however, is new and should be closely monitored this week. If Lynch is able to practice on Thursday and Friday, he should be a must start on Sunday. If the injuries keep him out of practice this week, you may want to look elsewhere. If Lynch is expected to miss Sunday's game, his backup, Robert Turpin could be a solid play against the Jets.
