Seattle Marathon 2012: Weather forecast, road closures and more

Marathoners are asked to be prepared for any type of weather condition during the race.

During the Seattle Marathon, certain roads will either be closed, restricted or partially unavailable at varying times during the race. Those streets will differ in when they're closed based on which part of the course they are located in and how long marathoners will be expected to finish that section of the course. The beginning of the course streets will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and the last piece of the marathon will be closed from 8:45 am to 4 pm.

The event's website informs runners to be prepared for different types of weather conditions. Seattle in November can have a wide range of possibilities, but the average temperature in usually around the mid-40s with the distinct chance of rain, wind and for the temperature to drop to colder levels.

Each marathon and half marathon run and walk finisher will receive a finisher's medal at the finish line. The overall top three men and women in each event will receive awards along with the winners of various age groups and subdivisions.
