The Eastern Washington Eagles received the No. 2 overall seed in this year's FCS playoffs. It means they'll have to wait a week before they know who they be preparing for in the second round of the playoffs. Although the Eagles know they'll be playing at Roos Field in Cheney, they'll have to wait until Saturday until they know whether that game will be against the Colgate Raiders or the Wagner Seahawks.
The North Dakota State Bison took the first overall seed with EWU's Big Sky foe, the Montana State Bobcats snagging the No. 3 seed. The Old Dominion Monarchs check in with the No. 4 seed while the Georgia Southern Eagles snagged the No. 5 ranking.
The Eagles only have two blemishes on their schedule this year, an out of conference 24-20 loss to the Washington St. Cougars and an upset 30-27 conference loss to the Southern Utah Thunderbirds. The Eagles won five of their last six games with three of the wins coming by narrow field goal margins.
