Russell Wilson was voted the NFL Rookie of the Week for his performance in Week 10 against the Jets.
He beat out Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Leonard Johnson, St. Louis Rams punter Johnny Hekker and Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jarius Wright. This marks the first Rookie of the Week award Wilson has received this year, although he has been nominated two other times.
Wilson, who is a perfect 5-0 at home this season, completed 12 of his 19 pass attempts for 188 yards and two touchdowns against a quality pass defense. More importantly, the Seahawks ended up winning the game 28-7.
The Seahawks are on their bye week in Week 11. That should give Wilson and his teammates plenty of time to recover from any lingering injuries they sustained from the first half of the season. The 'Hawks will head to Miami to take on the Dolphins in Week 12. Seattle is 1-4 on the road this year.
