No. 3 Oregon leads Cal, 14-7, after the first quarter at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley on Saturday night.
Oregon opened the scoring early in the game with a 57-yard touchdown drive following a Cal three-and-out to start the game, giving the Ducks a 7-0 lead thanks to Macus Mariota's 10-yard pass to Colt Lyerla. The Bears responded with a 71-yard drive to tie the game thanks to a Allan Bridgford 10-yard pass just under three minutes later.
The game would get chippy a few drives later when the Ducks appeared to have been stopped short on third down deep inside Cal territory. A personal foul against Cal gave Oregon another chance on the drive, with the Ducks scoring and taking the lead just four plays later after Byron Marshall's 3-yard touchdown run.
Oregon has outgained Cal, 147-104, through the first quarter with Ducks quarterback Mariota 8-of-10 for 105 yards and a touchdown so far in the game.
