Seahawks vs. Lions: Seattle, Detroit release inactive lists

New, 1 comment

The Seattle Seahawks face the Detroit Lions on Sunday in Detroit in a game the Lions desperately need and the Seahawks would love to steal on the road.

But the Seahawks will have to go without seven players after the release of their inactive list for Week 8. The players missing in action against the Detroit will be: wide receiver Braylon Edwards, cornerback Danny Gorrer, cornerback Byron Maxwell, offensive lineman John Moffitt, wide receiver Doug Baldwin, defensive tackle Jason Jones and defensive tackle Jaye Howard. The loss of Edwards and Baldwin impacts the depth at wide receiver on an offense that is already inconsistent.

The Lions are relatively healthy among their regular players. Their inactive list includes cornerback Jacob Lacey, safety Amari Spievey, cornerback Bill Bentley, linebacker DeAndre Levy, offensive tackle Jason Fox, quarterback Kellen Moore and offensive tackle Corey Hilliard. Running back Kevin Smith and defensive end Ronnell Lewis were on the inactive list last week prior to the Lions' loss to the Chicago Bears but will be active this week.

Seattle enters the game 4-3 and tied for second in the NFC West while Detroit sits at 2-4 and in last place in the NFC North.
