Oregon vs. Colorado: Ducks out to 28-0 lead after first quarter

It didn't take long for the Oregon Ducks to pounce on the Colorado Buffaloes, as they have jumped out to a 28-0 lead after 15 minutes of play. Oregon scored quickly to start the game, taking their opening drive to the house in less than two minutes. They had the ball again immediately, recovering a botched CU kickoff return. The Ducks scored again moments later and held a 14-point lead with less than three minutes gone.

Kenjon Barner capped off the first drive with a 1-yard touchdown run. He set Oregon up in the red zone with a 41-yard run two plays earlier.

De'Anthony Thomas put the next six points on the board for the Ducks, using his speed to get outside and cruise into the endzone on a 9-yard score.

The third Oregon touchdown came on a quick-strike, 92-yard drive that was the product of two big plays. The first was a 26-yard burst down the sideline for Thomas. Marcus Mariota found Barner wide open on a wheel route the next play, covering 48 yards down to the Colorado five yard line. Mariota took the ball in himself for to extend the Oregon lead.

Thomas made another big sideline run on the Ducks' next drive, gaining 49 yards to the Colorado 21. Bralon Addison would take the ball in 16 yards for the score two plays later on a interesting fake handoff option screen pass from Mariota to put Oregon up four touchdowns.

The Buffaloes have the ball to start the second quarter and face a fourth down. They have punted on their first two possessions, but have moved into Oregon territory on this drive with the help of a 25-yard run from Christian Powell.
