Mason Kelley of the Seattle Times and Doug Pacey of the Tacoma News Tribune both released their 3A and 4A statewide boys basketball rankings on Monday.
↵In 4A, both writers have one-loss Bellarmine Prep (8-1) as the No. 1 team. The Lions' one loss came at the hands of Loyola HS (Los Angeles, CA) at a national tournament in Washington D.C. Loyola HS is considered to be one of the top teams in the entire nation this season. Bellarmine Prep will face South Kitsap on Wednesday and Stadium HS on Friday.
↵Kelley and Pacey also kept Rainier Beach (8-0) at the top of their 3A rankings. Mike Bethea's Vikings already have impressive wins over Bellevue, Gonzaga Prep, Seattle Prep and Kentwood. Rainier Beach is ranked No. 19 in the nation in MaxPrep's Xcellent 25. They face West Seattle on Tuesday and Eastside Catholic on Friday.
↵There are no undefeated teams remaining in 4A. In 3A, Rainier Beach, along with Kamiakan (8-0) and Mountlake Terrace (10-0) are perfect so far. Kelley has Kamiakan at No. 2 and Mountlake Terrace at No. 6, while Pacey ranks Kamiakan at No. 3 and Mountlake Terrace at No. 3.
