2012 Rose Bowl Final Score: Ducks Win 45-38, Badgers Can't Get Final Play Off

With two seconds remaining and down eight points on the Oregon Ducks 25-yard line, the Wisconsin Badgers needed to throw one into the endzone and hope for the best. Instead, quarterback Russell Wilson spike the ball into the ground after the gameclock had expired, ending the game and handing the Ducks the 2012 Rose Bowl crown.

Oregon QB Darron Thomas was the statistical standout in a game that saw the Rose Bowl scoring record fall (83 combined points). Thomas threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-clinching TD pass to Lavasier Tuinei at the start of the fourth quarter.

LaMichael James and De'Anthony Thomas blew up the Badger defense with a furious, two-headed rushing attack. James racked up 159 yards and a touchdown while Thomas bullied his way to 155 yards and two TDs.

Tuinei was named offensive MVP of the game for his 8 catch, 158 yard, two touchdown performance. Kiko Alonso was named defensive MVP for his interception and 1.5 sacks.

Heisman candidate Montee Ball gathered 165 yards and a score in a losing effort for Wisconsin. QB Russell Wilson posted 296 yards and two touchdowns, though he also had a backbreaking interception.

Oregon finishes the season 12-2 while the Badgers end with a 11-3 record.
