Washington State Boys Basketball Rankings: Rainier Beach And Bellarmine Prep Are Consensus No. 1's

Bellarmine Prep and Rainier Beach remain ranked at No. 1 in 4A and 3A respectively in the majority of high school basketball rankings in Washington.

Both teams have lost one game apiece, with each coming against nationally ranked opponents. Bellarmine Prep's loss happened back in December to Loyola HS (Calif.) (ranked No. 46 ESPN Fab 50 rankings). The Vikings most recently lost to Long Beach Poly, 64-58 in Monday's King Holiday Hoopfest. Long Beach Poly is ranked No. 24 in ESPN's Fab 50. In those same rankings, Rainier Beach fell from No. 27 to No. 34 after Monday's loss.

Davis (Yakima) and Skyline (Sammamish) are the consensus No. 2 and No. 3 4A teams in the Seattle Times, The News Tribune and AP rankings — however these two teams won't see each other or Bellarmine Prep until the state playoffs. Rainier Beach's No. 1 ranking will likely remain stable as long as they continue their dominance in their six remaining Metro League regular season games.

Due to the current snow storm, it is unclear when basketball games in the Seattle-area will start up again. Rainier Beach's Tuesday game against Chief Sealth was canceled. The Vikings' next schedule game is for next Tuesday against Nathan Hale. Bellarmine Prep's Wednesday game against Gig Harbor was canceled as well, their next scheduled game is this Saturday against Mount Tahoma HS.
