Rainier Beach Basketball Splashes Into National Rankings

Mason Kelley of the Seattle Times and Doug Pacey of the Tacoma News Tribune both released their 3A and 4A statewide boys basketball rankings on Monday.

The No. 1 spot in both 4A and 3A remain the same in both rankings; 4A's Bellarmine Prep (10-1) and 3A's Rainier Beach (11-0) both went undefeated in league play last week. Prep came away with double-digit victories over South Kitsap and and Stadium last week. They'll face Shelton and Central Kitsap on Wednesday and Friday respectively.

Rainier Beach faces Bishop Blanchet, Franklin and Long Beach Poly (Calif.) in seven days. Seattle Times has Franklin (10-2) ranked at No. 7. The Quakers will have to contain Beach's trio of guards that includes Anrio Adams, Marquis Davis and Will Dorsey. Adams is averaging 21.2 points per game while Davis and Dorsey are averaging around 11 points a piece.

The Vikings also came in at No. 19 in Max Prep's latest update of their Xcellent 25 national rankings. In ESPN Rise's FAB 50, the Vikings currently sit at No. 26, though the rankings were updated on Jan. 1st.
