Seattle Seahawks Injury Report: Marshawn Lynch, Russell Okung Expected To Play Week One

The Seahawks are preparing for their first game of the season. Check inside for injury updates, depth chart announcements, and more.

Week one of the 2011-2012 NFL season is less than a week away. While the Seahawks battled their fair share of injuries this preseason, it appears that most of their notable players should be good to play against the San Francisco 49ers.

Head coach Pete Carroll updated the media after today's practice. Curtis Crabtree tweeted a few updates on various injured players:

Pete Carroll says RB Marshawn Lynch, LB David Hawthorne, T Russell Okung and S Kam Chancellor all should be ready next week in SF.

Pete Carroll says James Carpenter took snaps at left guard with Robert Gallery's knee sprain. Gallery might be back this week.

WR Sidney Rice's (shoulder) availability for Sunday won't be known until later in the week.

All good news for the most part.

It is imperative for each of these injured players to do whatever is possible to be ready for the season opener. The NFC west appears to be wide open and the matchup with the 49ers is a winnable division game. For a team that has struggled to get off to a strong start in recent seasons, it would be nice to get the first win out of the way nice and early.
