Oregon Ducks running back LaMichael James wants to remind you that Landry Jones, Andrew Luck and Marcus Lattimore aren't the only players you should consider as Heisman frontrunners.
James obliterated Arizona, and in the process put up numbers that set new Oregon records for rushing (288, breaking Onterrio Smith's school record), and all-purpose yardage (363 yards, with 60 coming in the return game, 15 coming in the receiving game). James had nine rushes of ten yards or more. James had his way by cutting back inside against Arizona defenders who overpursued, or gaining the edge on the outside, or just following the blocks of his Oregon offensive line.
Darron Thomas completed 11 of 20 passes for 101 yards and 5.1 yards per attempt, but also added 52 yards on the ground; Kenjon Barner put up 72 yards on 5.5 rushing yards per carry. And despite compiling great passing numbers late in the contest, Nick Foles and the young Arizona offensive line were battered and worn down by Oregon's blitzing packages, as Foles got hit on numerous occasions. Arizona managed only 82 yards rushing, compared to 415 for Oregon. The Ducks keep their conference streak going, having not lost since Stanford in November 2009.
The Ducks now have a bye week before preparing for a home matchup with the California Golden Bears on Thursday Night Football.
