Oregon vs. Arizona Score Update: LaMichael James, Defense Puts Ducks Up 35-9 At Halftime

This has been all Oregon Ducks from the opening snap, and it's the LaMichael James Show in the Desert. James has put up 91 yards in the second quarter, then added a 51 yard punt return to set up his second rushing touchdown. On the night, James has piled up 208 all-purpose yards (133 rushing, 15 receiving) and put in two touchdowns, and he has totally overwhelmed Arizona on the ground by averaging 12.1 yards per rush.

Darron Thomas hasn't even needed to play a great passing game for James to dominate, although Thomas has spread the ball around to six different receivers. He found Kenjon Barner and David Paulson for two second quarter touchdowns and is 10 for 17 for 86 yards. Nothing spectacular, but he's moved the chains for Oregon in the first half.

Let's not ignore Oregon's defense, which has totally shut things down against Arizona. Arizona has converted only one of nine third downs and the Oregon defense has swarmed Nick Foles to maintain constant pressure on him. Arizona managed a late first half touchdown drive, but they've otherwise been held in check.
