The No. 12 Oregon Ducks lead the Missouri State Bears 14-7 after the first quarter. After the Bears scored early, the Ducks have responded with 14 unanswered points to secure the advantage heading into the second quarter.
The Bears opened the game with an 11-yard kickoff return and proceeded to take the ball 84 yards. Running back Chris Douglas capped off the drive with a three-yard rushing touchdown.
The Ducks came right back and responded with a score of their own. Running back LaMichael James saw plenty of touches on Oregon's opening drive, carrying the rock six times and punching in a one-yard score to cap the 56-yard drive.
Missouri State was forced to punt the ball away on their next possession and Oregon took advantage just three plays later after a 48-yard punt return by De'Anthony Thomas. Quarterback Darron Thomas found Lavasier Tunnei for a nine-yard touchdown to give Oregon the lead.
Darron Thomas has completed four of five passes for 42 yards and one touchdown. LaMichael James has 37 yards and one rushing touchdown on seven carries. De'Anthony Thomas has also chipped in with 102 all-purpose yards on four touches, including a kickoff return for 35 yards and a punt return for 48 yards.
