Oregon State vs. Wisconsin: Badgers Up 7-0 After First Quarter, Thanks To Bad Punt

Both the Oregon St. Beavers and Wisconsin Badgers haven't been able to get their offenses going after one quarter. The only score came off a special teams miscue.

Oregon State has been going quarterback carousel all game long. Ryan Katz completed an eight yard pass to Markus Wheaton on the first play of the game, and then Katz rushed two yards to get an Oregon State first down. Katz was then replaced by Sean Mannion on the very next play, and Mannion then threw two incompletions to force an Oregon State punt. After Wisconsin went three-and-out, Oregon State gained approximately zero yards on the next drive and were forced to punt from their own 18.

Johnny Hekker then attempted a rugby-style punt that sailed a grand -4 yards (video coming, stay tuned!), Wisconsin then took over from Oregon State's 14, and Russell Wilson found Jacob Pedersen for a 17 yard touchdown on 3rd and 13. With both teams averaging less than four yards per play, that's about all the offense that's been produced up to this point.
