NFL Free Agency: Dashon Goldson Drawing Interest From Patriots, Seahawks

Dashon Goldson is one of the few free agents remaining from a two-week flurry of signings and acquisitions in the NFL. The safety could be a nice addition to a team that needs depth in the secondary.

Danny Kelly reported earlier that the Seahawks were interested in acquiring the former 49ers defensive back, and now it seems there might be new suitors in the race. Safety Brandon McGowan is about to be released by the Patriots, and Goldson could fit into the rotation. However, New England is not well-known for taking on huge salaries, and Goldson will likely draw huge money (he already turned down 5 years and $20 million from the Niners at the start of free agency). The Patriots already seem to have Patrick Chung and Brandon Meriweather as the starters, so you'd have to think if there was a bidding war, the Seahawks would likely end up victorious.
