Trayvon Robinson Active For Seattle Mariners Game Friday

Former Dodgers' outfield prospect Trayvon Robinson, recently acquired by the Seahawks Mariners in the Erik Bedard trade, has been called up from AAA Tacoma and will start in left field for the Mariners tonight. Per Greg Johns, Robinson will play in left field and bat 9th. The team announced that he will wear the number 12.

Robinson was acquired in a three-team trade that saw Erik Bedard go to the Red Sox and several Red Sox players to the Dodgers. Robinson, along with Chih Hsien Chiang, comes to the Mariners and is one of several new faces in the clubhouse. Recently acquired pitcher Charlie Furbush and outfielder Casper Wells, both part of the Doug Fister trade, have already had some action and had some success with the Mariners, and Robinson hopes to continue that trend.

Trayvon Robinson has some power (26HRs and 9 triples in 2011) and steals some bases, but he also strikes out a lot.
