Seahawks Vs. Raiders: Marshawn Lynch, David Hawthorne Out; Russell Okung Close To Returning

The Seattle Seahawks will play without running back Marshawn Lynch, linebacker David Hawthorne and offensive tackle Russell Okung for Friday's preseason game against the Oakland Raiders.

According to the Seattle Seahawks, running back Marshawn Lynch and linebacker David Hawthorne will not play in Friday's preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. Similarly, offensive tackle Russell Okung is close to returning from an ankle injury but will likely miss Friday's contest.

Lynch is dealing with an ankle injury of his own and will sit out of Saturday's game. The rest will give Lynch a full week before the start of the regular season, by which time Lynch figures to be suited up and ready to go.

Hawthorne has a knee injury and will forego Saturday's contest in favor of resting it. He started all 16 games last season and will look to be ont eh field as well during the Seahawks' season opener against the

Okung, meanwhile, injured his left ankle in the first series of the Seahawks' preseason opener against the San Diego Chargers. He left the field and has been working his way back ever since. Okung, who had a history of ankle problems last season, has spent the entire preseason working his ankle back into playing shape. He is close enough to returning, apparently, for Coach Pete Carroll to say this: "If (Friday) was the opener, he'd try to go this week."

The Seahawks will take on the Raiders on Friday at 7:30 PT.
