Washington Huskies Basketball Recruiting 2011: Center Richard Peters Favors UW

Richard Peters is one of the few centers from the 2012 recruiting class, and it could be the next big man Washington needs. The Westwind Prep International big from Phoenix, Arizona is on the radar of UW, and he seems fairly intent on reciprocating that interest.

Let's take a quick look at his recruiting tape.

You can see that Peters needs some refinement in techniques. He's big. He's tall. He's got a lot of promise. He's got strength. He can rebound the ball, he can finish when given the ball at the rim. What he seems to lack is much of a post game, which means he'll be a bit of a development project. Perhaps like Matthew Bryan-Amaning, he'll eventually discover how to use his talent in the right ways, but there's a lot of promise once he learns how to use all his abilities.

The Washington Huskies are considered the early favorites for Peters--both Rivals and Scout have Peters listed with high interest in UW and Romar's program, perhaps the leader over all other programs. His mentor lists UConn, Florida, Washington State, Clemson, Seton Hall, Marquette, Texas Tech, and Alabama as other schools he'd be interested in, according to Adam Zagoria.
