Jeff Reed, Seattle Seahawks Agree To Terms, According To Report

Needing a kicker after Olindo Mare agreed to a deal with the Carolina Panthers, the Seattle Seahawks reportedly signed Jeff Reed on Wednesday. The Seahawks' kicker position has been in limbo early in training camp, with Brandon Coutu lasting all of a few days and Wes Byrum the only other kicker on the roster. But now, it appears the Seahawks will have a veteran presence at the kicker spot, though it's unknown how well Reed will hold-up, or whether he's in decline.

The news comes from Brian McIntyre at Mac's Football Blog.

Financial terms of the one-year deal were not disclosed.

During his nine-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers, the former undrafted free agent out of North Carolina is 213-of-259 on field goal attempts.

McIntyre adds that Byrum is expected to be placed on waivers, with the Seahawks not wanting to carry two kickers.
