LSU Players Charged, Suspended Due to Bar Fight

Louisiana State Police have issued arrest warrants charging LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson as well as teammate Joshua Johns with second-degree battery after a bar fight last week that left four people injured. LSU has taken the proper steps with the players by suspending them indefinitely.

The players' attorney, Nathan Fisher, and LSU coach Les Miles, have been contacted by the police and asked the players to turn themselves in according to Baton Rouge police Sgt. Don Stone. Jefferson and Johns face felony charges for their alleged actions during a fight outside Shady's bar in Baton Rouge on Aug. 19.

The police report paints a terrible scene as a 19-year-old woman named Victoria Long said she saw multiple LSU players beating a man on the ground, and even saw Jefferson kick that man in the face.

Jefferson's suspension is a huge blow to LSU's title hopes this season, and forces backup Jarrett Lee to become LSU's starter for their season opener against Oregon.
