NFL Free Agency 2011: Seahawks Sign S Atari Bigby, Release FB Dorson Boyce

Looking for some veteran help in their secondary, the Seattle Seahawks announced on Tuesday the signing of free-agent safety Atari Bigbyaccording to sources

The 5'11"  213 pound Bigby is a five year NFL veteran, playing his entire NFL career with the Green Bay Packers until joining Pete Carroll and the Hawks in the great Northwest. He played in only four games for the Pack during their 2010 Super Bowl campaign after a knee injury kept him sidelined the rest of the season, but is healthy and ready to go this season. Bigby had a workout up in Seattle on Monday, and impressed the team enough to earn a spot on the Seahawks roster. Bigby has recorded 164 career tackles, three forced fumbles, and ten interceptions in his NFL career thus far, five of which came in his breakout 2007 season.

In a corresponding roster move, the team released undrafted rookie fullback Dorson Boyce to make room for Bigby.
