Cillian Sheridan, 22-Year-Old Irish Striker, Linked To Seattle Sounders

We know the Seattle Sounders need help on the offensive end, specifically at target forward where Nate Jaqua is the only healthy big body on the roster. With the departure of Blaise Nkufo and a blood clot that has sidelined O'Brian White, Sounders head coach Sigi Schmid has been forced to stray from his typical system, and the team has been hanging on for dear life. With the coming transfer window in July, may expect Seattle to seek help at the position, and 22-year-old striker Cillian Sheridan may be an answer.

According to a report out of Ireland, Sheridan may be Seattle-bound this summer when the transfer window opens (via MLS Rumors).

Reports in Sofia suggesting that CSKA’s Ireland striker Cillian Sheridan on way to MLS side Seattle Sounders on loan…

Sheridan was in Seattle for the Sounders friendly against Celtic last season, but now plays for CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria. At 6-foot-5, he surely has the size to play at the target forward position, but has also shown some versatility, playing a variety of different positions including left back in the aforementioned friendly.

As with any transfer rumors, take it with a grain of salt. In the next month, it's likely the Sounders will be connected to a broad-array of players, but we won't know for sure what, if anything, is planned until the window opens in mid-July. For now, it's fun to speculate and hope.
